Cats

![]() Syracuse was our first cat. We found him starving and thirsty near the old Windsor Market, now the Casino
site. It took 4 flea dips at the vet to rid him of the critters, and it took nearly two years before he got up on
Deb's lap.
![]() He came to live with us on Langlois Ave. in Windsor, and also moved with us to Amherstburg. He was very
soft to the touch, but loved to play rough. He bonded with Deb, though he loved to sit on my shoulders.
Syracuse died of a stroke at 11 years.
![]() We adopted Chaco (named after Chaco Canyon, NM) as a companion for Syracuse. They did not ever bond.
Chaco was allergic to fish and plastic bowls, but was otherwise a pretty healthy cat. She bonded with me and
we had 17 happy years together. She would jump up on my lap when I was practicing piano, and she also loved
to ride around on my shoulders, when we would take walks around the house.
![]() Ferdie came along after we found him nearly dead, as a kitten wandering in the staff parking lot at school.
Dr. Ross nursed him back to health, and after unsuccessfully trying to find a home for him, we adopted him. He
and Syracuse became pretty good buddies, though Chaco would have nothing to do with either of them. Ferdie
had a thing for Chaco, but this is about as close as she would let him get to her.
![]() Chaco snoozin' on the table. This was her number one resting place.
![]() Another shot of 'home sweet home'.
![]() Chaco's colouring really shows well here, as well as the contrast between her and Ferdinand.
![]() This is the final photo of Chaco, rubbing her head in her favourite catnip patch in our side garden. She loved warm days
and sunshine, and a bit of the 'nip.
![]() Ferdinand is named after Ferdinand the Bull, a children's story character of a bull that would rather lie in the fields and smell
flowers than fight in the bull ring.
![]() One of the first pictures taken with my Fujifilm Finepix S9000.
![]() A favourite shot of Ferdie, watching his favourite documentary....
![]() Occasionally Ferdie could be trusted in the backyard without a leash.
![]() Ferdie in the sunshine.
